The Tampa Bay Buccaneers re-signed CB Sammy Davis on Thursday. Davis, who was a reserve cornerback in Tampa Bay last year after signing a one-year deal, was allowed to test the free agent market but opted to re-join the team. The Bucs needed depth at CB after Brian Kelly bought out the final year of his deal.
Tampa Bay free agent cornerback Sammy Davis re-signed with the Buccaneers on Thursday, according to Rotoworld.com. A former first-round draft pick, Davis originally joined the Bucs as a free agent last year.

A former first-round draft pick, Davis originally joined the Buccaneers as a free agent last year. He was released in preseason, but re-signed with Tampa Bay on Sept. 11.
Davis, 27, played in 14 games (one start) with the Bucs, notching 20 tackles and two passes defensed while playing mostly in nickel and dime situations.
The 6-foot-1, 195-pound Davis has recorded 172 career tackles, three interceptions and 33 passes defensed in 71 games (32 starts).
Although Davis has re-signed with Tampa Bay, the Buccaneers still are in the market for a cornerback as Ronde Barber is 33, Phillip Buchanon is entering the final year of his contract and Brian Kelly is an unrestricted free agent.
