With unrestricted free agent Drayton Florence (San Diego) visiting Tampa Bay at One Buccaneer Place on Friday, the Buccaneers were setting up a visit with another highly sought after cornerback in Randall Gay (New England). PewterReport.com is reporting that the Buccaneers will be visiting Gay on Monday.

PewterReport.com is reporting that there is mutual interest between the Buccaneers and cornerback Randall Gay. Gay's agent and the Bucs have discussed contract parameters and have set up a visit for Monday at One Buccaneer Place. Gay will visit New Orleans this weekend.

The 25-year old Gay (5-foot-11, 190 pounds) missed most of the 2005 and 2006 seasons, but has 85 tackles, 14 passes defensed and 5 INTs in his four-year career. In 2007, Gay posted career highs in tackles (37), passes defensed (7) and interceptions (3).

With Brian Kelly and Sammy Davis leaving via free agency, the Buccaneers have a need for a cornerback with Ronde Barber turning 33 in April and Philip Buchanon entering the final year of his contract with Tampa Bay.

PewterReport.com first reported that the Buccaneers visited with cornerback Drayton Florence (San Diego) on Friday at One Buc Place.

Ok, If this goes down, i'm gonna need to see a Job offer from someone. (Jim, Scott, Hugh?) HAHA! If Hackett and Gay both sign, I'd Be 2 for 2, and in need of some compensation. Just kidding guys. This is a very exciting time for all Buc fans!

Isn't it nice to not have to look to the draft for starters?! The way it's shaping up, we'll have either a veteran at every poition, or someone who played pretty well last year (Jackson, Adams, Sears). It kinda feels like we are rolling into the draft with "House Money!"
