The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have expressed interest in San Francisco free agent tackle Kwame Harris. The 6-foot-7, 322-pound Harris is visiting with Oakland and currently is not scheduled to visit the Buccaneers.
The Buccaneers signed New Orleans Saints free agent center Jeff Faine to a six-year, $37.5 million contract on Friday, but they might not be finished addressing their offensive line.
PewterReport.com is reporting that Tampa Bay has expressed interest in signing San Francisco 49ers free agent offensive tackle Kwame Harris.
The 6-foot-7, 322-pound Harris spent Friday visiting with the Oakland Raiders and currently is not scheduled to visit the Buccaneers.
Harris, 25, has started 44 of the 72 games he's played in since he entered the league in 2003. He had a hand in helping running back Frank Gore rush for nearly 3,000 yards over the last two seasons.
However, Harris has started just 12 games during that time span due to inconsistent play and injuries.
Tampa Bay likely would be interested in signing Harris as a swing tackle to add competition and depth behind left tackles Luke Petitgout and Donald Penn, and right tackle Jeremy Trueblood.
The Bucs spent Friday meeting with several free agents, including tight end John Gilmore (Chicago), who is expected to sign a three-year contract with the team, and linebacker Niko Koutouvides (Seattle), defensive end Jimmy Wilkerson (Kansas City), cornerback Drayton Florence (San Diego) and wide receiver Devery Henderson (New Orleans).
Tampa Bay has also arranged visits with tight end Ben Troupe (Tennessee) for Saturday and cornerback Randall Gay (New England) for Monday.

Why do we need a swing tackle? What's wrong with a guy who played right tackle when he came to us. Played it for a year, was switched to LT, became a 2 yr starter at LT, is 329 lbs, and is already signed? His name is Anthony Davis.

I would be surprised if this deal really happened. I think we are now good on the OL. Time to spend the rest of the money on FA for a WR , CB and maybe a QB. WE will draft a DL and a LB in the first three rounds. If we don't pick up a decent QB in FA then look for a QB in the first 3 rounds.
Go Bucs.

This guy sucks!!! Please don't sign him Bruce Allen. DB's can blitz right around him. All that he's got going for him is that he is a specimen and high draft pick. He gets lots of fasle starts and flags for holding. Bring back K. Walker before you sign this bust. I'll have to start betting aginst the Bucs if he has to play in some games.
