The Tampa Bay Buccaneers spent Sunday visiting with New England free agent safety Eugene Wilson, according to NFL Network. The Bucs, who don't have a pressing need at safety, could be targeting Wilson as a cornerback.
Wilson, 27, has notched 10 career interceptions since entering the NFL in 2003 as a second-round draft pick out of Illinois.
After missing just one game during the first three seasons of his career, Wilson has only started 10 games over the past two seasons due to injuries.
Although Tampa Bay S Kalvin Pearson, who excels on special teams, is attempting to land a long-term deal from another team as a restricted free agent, the Bucs appear to be set at the safety position with Jermaine Phillips, Tanard Jackson, Sabby Piscitelli and Will Allen under contract in 2008.
The Bucs are, however, in the market for a veteran cornerback with Brian Kelly and Sammy Davis on the free agent market, and the 5-foot-10, 195-pound Wilson could be targeted to play cornerback in Tampa Bay.
Tampa Bay has attempted to sign free agent CBs Drayton Florence (Jacksonville), Jacques Reeves (Houston) and Randall Gay (New Orleans), but to no avail. All three players have already signed with their new respective teams.
According to NFL Network, Wilson is scheduled to visit with Pittsburgh and Tennessee after his trip to Tampa concludes.

im getting the feeling that not many players want to work with this team.our team must carry a heavy stink with it among players,or maybe its the coaches......

Hmmmm, maybe we just know what we want and are waiting to get it. So far most of the big trades have been rather expensive, ad most of them have off feild issues as baggage. Hopefully someone has a plan. I want to WIN next year. This year was better, but could have been great, I know injuries etc. and even we can't play Atlanta 8 times a year.
