The Bucs released WR Anthony Mix Wednesday just hours after a Fox television station in Mobile, Alabama reported Mix had been indicted for having sex with an underage minor by a grand jury. If convicted Mix could have a jail sentence of a year with a $500 fine. Mix signed with Tampa Bay in January of this year.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers released wide receiver Anthony Mix Wednesday just hours after a report surfaced that stated he was indicted by a grand jury in Bay Minette, Alabama for having consensual sex with an underage minor according to a Fox television station in Alabama. Mix allegedly had a relationship with the 15-year old girl, and a grand jury found suitable evidence to indict Mix on those charges.
The Fox station reported that that the Bay Minette Police wanted to pursue charges of second degree rape and sodomy. The grand jury's decision was to indict Mix on the misdemeanor of delinquency of a minor. If convicted Mix could face a year in jail with a $500 fine.
The Bucs signed Mix on January 24. Mix played for the New York Giants and Washington Redskins during the 2007 season. He was released by Washington at end of the 2008 preseason and was not part of an NFL team during the regular season. Mix played collegiately at Auburn and is from Bay Minette.

This guy is a moron. These guys can get practically any single (and some non-single) girls in their age range just by saying they play or played in the NFL. Most women don't follow the sport closely enough to know whether the guy starts or not, so they believe whatever they're told. All that and he chooses a 15 year old? That's sick. Cut him.

Why do people still have to bring up J. Stevens past. What has he done wrong since being here in Tampa? This is a 'guilty until you prove yourself innocent world'. However, if there is enough evidence to be indicted by a Grand Jury, it's best to cut ties now. If he gets cleared, bring him back. He wasn't going to make the team anyway.
