Below are the questions that were asked in our mailbox for this week’s edition of the FANTASY MAILBAG.

Question: Week 3, who should I start? Ryan Fitzpatrick or Jimmy Garoppolo?

Answer: I think there’s no question that Ryan Fitzpatrick is your top fantasy quarterback play this week against a Steelers defense that has given up the second most points to fantasy QBs. Fitzpatrick leads all players across the board in fantasy points through two weeks, so your best bet is to keep riding the Fitzmagic while it’s hot. While Jimmy Garoppolo is also going to be a good play in week three going up against Kansas City’s defense that has allowed the most points to fantasy quarterbacks, his production so far this season has just been average and right now there’s no reason to believe Fitzpatrick can’t put up at least three touchdowns and 300 yards against Pittsburgh’s secondary.

Question: Drop Greg Olsen?

Answer: If you don’t have a deep enough bench to justify holding onto Olsen for a potential mid-season return and need to clear room to bring in another tight end, I think it’s safe to drop Olsen now and keep a watchful eye on his status. As Olsen will be playing injured once again when he comes back this year, there are still available tight ends that you can target that will have comparable production. After the first two weeks of football, Pittsburgh’s Jesse James and Seattle’s Will Dissly have put up the most points at the tight end position and they’re owned in just 12 and 32 percent of fantasy football leagues, respectively.

Question: Should I start DeSean Jackson or Mike Evans vs. Pittsburgh? Evans may be the obvious choice but DeSean has been unstoppable lately.

Answer: If there’s a way to start both players against this Pittsburgh defense in a game that has shootout potential, I certainly would not hesitate to do so. Jackson and Evans should be solid locks to put up 15 points each against a Steelers secondary that has already allowed seven passing touchdowns this season. Evans may be the safer option as Jackson’s production relies more on his explosive plays, but if we stick to what’s trending I’m going to say that Fitzpatrick will find him behind the defense once again this week. While you probably invested a higher draft pick in Evans, Jackson would be my pick if you’re looking for a high-reward start out of these two.
